How can justbreathe improve oxygen efficiency?

justbreathe reduces the oxygen available in the air in a safe and controlled environment, forcing the body to react and adapt to the lower level of oxygen available.

By breathing less oxygen the body learns how to cope and subtle physiological changes occur. Using justbreathe, you alternate between breathing reduced oxygen air and normal air, and it is this interval in the breathing programme that speeds up the adaptation process.

Your body is forced to learn how to react to less oxygen and then re-adapt to it's normal oxygen content in a short period of time which educates your body to use your oxygen supply more efficiently.

This process results in your body conserving precious oxygen in reserve so that when you need it most, your body won't let you down.

Red blood cells are responsible for carrying oxygen from the lungs to all the tissues in the body, this oxygen is then used to create energy. Having a greater number of red blood cells increases oxygen supply to the tissues and thereby increases the amount of energy which can be produced.

Erythropoietin (EPO)

Erythropoietin (EPO) is a natural hormone produced by the kidney that stimulates the production of red bloods. The Kidney cells that make EPO are highly sensitive to low oxygen levels in the blood. When low oxygen levels in the blood are detected, the kidney cells release EPO which results in new red blood cells being created.

EPO Stimulates Red Blood Cell Production

Over a period of 10-12 days new red blood cells fully mature. You can expect to feel the benefits once the new red blood cells develop in your body.

What happens inside your body? As you breathe reduced oxygen your blood oxygen saturation level reduces; this is detected by receptors in the brain. Your brain sends signals to your kidneys to produce a natural hormone, rythopoietin (EPO). EPO is delivered via blood to your bone marrow. Your bone marrow EPO stimulates the production of new red blood cells. It takes 10 days for new blood cells to mature. Having an increase in red blood cells enables oxygen to be transported around the body more efficiently, because red blood cells carry oxygen to your organs.
